MMS Visual Art Students Accepted Into State Art ExhibitionsThe Mason Middle School Art Department is proud to announce that seventh graders Emerson Cohen and Parker Scherocman have been selected to have their artwork represent the southwest region of Ohio in two state art exhibitions.  

Cohen had her artwork accepted into the 39th Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA) Young People’s Art Exhibition. This is an art exhibition by Ohio students in grades kindergarten through eighth. An awards ceremony will be held on March 2nd at 11:00 am in the Rhodes State Office Tower Building in Columbus, Ohio. Emerson’s artwork is among only 130 works selected from the eight OAEA regions in Ohio.  

Scherocman's artwork was selected for the 2019 Youth Art Month Art Exhibition.  This exhibition includes 133 exemplary works of art by Ohio students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Parker’s work will represent the southwest region of Ohio during the month of March at our state’s capitol. A recognition ceremony will be held at the STRS Building on March2 at 12:30pm in honor of the young artists.

The exhibitions are sponsored by the OAEA, which is the professional organization for art teachers in Ohio. Among its many professional endeavors, the OAEA works to promote art education and recognizes quality student art through various exhibits sponsored during the year.
