Registration-Kindergarten (2021-2022 SY ONLY)

2021-2022 Kindergarten Registration Information 

Kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year will be ½ day programming with AM hours 9:20 AM – 12:05 PM and PM hours 1:05 PM – 3:50 PM. Your child’s session is determined by the address of your residence. The finalized street listing will be posted on our website at by February 23rd. Bus number and pickup/drop off times will not be available until late July.  You will be able to view your child’s pickup/drop off locations starting June 1st. Students must be 5 years old on or before September 30.

If you are coordinating residential private child care, you will need to stay within your residential assigned session for your child to receive Mason bus service both to and from school.  If a session change is desired, you will find this form on our website. Click on the “Newcomer” star, then “Kindergarten Registration”.. Session changes will be granted, by the principal, only if enrollment numbers allow. Your child’s transportation may be affected as a result of a session change.  Please keep this in mind as you arrange care for your child. 

Most public daycare centers within the Mason City School District limits receive bus service for both sessions. However, please be aware that some daycares may be assigned a specific session due to their location.  This information will be available on the street listing guide.

Registration will take place through our online registration portal, Registration Gateway. The link for this will be available beginning March 1st.  All required registration documents will be uploaded to this site. 
Required documents for registration:

  • Proof of residency (lease, deed, settlement statement) or see *below.
  • Child's birth certificate or passport
  • Parent/Guardian driver's license or state issued ID card, or passport
  • Current Immunization Record
  • Court Documents (f applicable), i.e. Custody, Shared parenting

* If building, or purchasing  a home that  is pending,  your closing date must be within 90 days of the start of school. Click the link to download the required Agreement of Understanding Form.
