Celebrate ExcellenceMason Middle School science teacher Jay Reutter was recently chosen as the recipient of the Celebrate Excellence Award sponsored by the Hamilton County Education Foundation. The award recognizes excellent professionals in public education.

Reutter's innovative leadership, collaborative efforts to help other teachers grow professionally, and love for learning led to him being recognized with the award.

The Celebrate Excellence Educator Recognition Breakfast was held on May 12 at the Sharonville Convention Center. Twenty-three professionals representing public schools were recognized for their impact on the districts they serve.

“Over the years, Jay has transformed into not just a great teacher of science but a great leader among his peers.  When our school underwent a huge transition from teaming to a more traditional middle school schedule, Jay initiated a grassroots effort to identify concerns and develop a plan of action and ultimately planning and implementing a House System for our staff and students.  He saw this as an opportunity for staff and students to build relationships, participate in community service, develop leadership skills, and promote positive academic and social behaviors,” said Tonya McCall, MMS Principal.
